Kanye West is dead… Or not.

Screen shot 2009-10-21 at 01.02.47Yep. It looks like Taylor Swift fans combined with the internet no-goodness-knoledge of 4Chan users have struck again.

“RIP Kanye West” rained supreme on Twitter this evening, with rumours of his death spreading like… that horrible “spreadable butter” on a warm muffin.

This little game went on for about 3-4 hours before the reports of it being false began to neutralise the effect of the death rumour, and eventually the hashtag, “#taylorswiftsrevenge” began spreading to replace RIP Kanye West.

My views?

Taylor Swift fans: Good job on this, No really, If your really that far behind her, Go on and support her, Some are saying this is a wee bit too far, but I personally feel that it’s pretty much at the line, it’s really just a load of mess on Twitter. Very few “large-media” sources have said anything about it (TMZ, Tabloid sources etc, etc.)

An isolated little game on Twitter? I’d say so. Damage done? He’s not dead. Everyone took a look, it certainly shows how many still disapprove of his actions on the US VMA’s.

To Kanye Fans (especially the one’s taking this too heavily.) : It’s twitter. It didn’t even do much. Calm down.

Monday and Tuesday | 48 hours

6 October 2009 · Leave a Comment

Over the past 48 hours, there’s been quite a massive amount of news, ranging from a massive Windows Live Hotmail phishing attack which turns out to effect Gmail, AOL and Yahoo accounts as well, to more rumours of new Apple Laptops and accessories.

To try and be a bit of help, I’ll shorten all the news here,

  • Hotmail phishing – Customers of Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, Comcast and Mail.ru email services are at the forefront of the newest detail phishing attack. It has been confirmed at least 10,000 Hotmail addresses have been posted publicly, but have since been removed. Really, If you have mail accounts on any of these services, the best idea would be to change your password and security question.
  • New Apple Laptops (Rumour) - Recent American FCC filings for new accessories and some recent adverts spotted running on Google’s Dutch AdSense with adverts such as “Thinner, lighter and stronger MacBook, Order Today.”  - No word when these could be launched, or if they’ll even be launched before Christmas (only two months away now, 2009 went by quick.)
  • 12.2% of American Households own a Mac. – Market Research Firm, NPD North America reports that nearly 13% of American households own a Mac, now, also reported is that 86% also own a Windows PC, and nearly 70% have 3 or more personal computers within the household, This is significant as it shows a major change in the way Americans are adopting technology in the household when compared to a few years ago.
  • Palm Releases WebOS 1.2.1 for Pre – Palm released WebOS 1.2.1 for the Palm Pre, which, among other things, reintroduced iTunes syncing for PC and Mac users. Palm still is required to report to the USB-IF regarding their statement with plans to use Apple’s Vendor ID in the Pre. I’m guessing by the time a write another post on Thursday or Friday, This feature will have been broken by iTunes 9.0.2.
  • Sidekick and Hiptops … Dead. - T-Mobile USA has had a complete outage of the Danger Sidekick Service, used for Sidekick devices on the network, The issue with this? Without these servers, users are unable to access internet, SMS, MMS, phone calls, contacts, and pretty much anything on their devices, as they rely so heavily on the Sidekick Network. Currently we are in day 3 of the outage, and everyone from people’s gran’s to Perez Hilton are getting literally pissed at this outage.

So, for 48 hours, that’s quite a bit of news. I’ll be back with a round up of all of this Friday morning to see how things have gone (unless Apple gives us something new before then.)

oh hai.

Well hallo there.

Your probably wondering and saying to yourself, “Another blog, again.”

Well, It’s true. This is yet another go into blogging, but this time, it’s a bit different.

Over the past 6 months or so, I’ve noticed my interest in technology, the web, and things of the like dropping off the charts, and to be honest, that’s a bit worrying.

I started using computers when I was two, they really are a part of me, they’re one of the first thing I come in contact with in the morning, besides my BlackBerry, my sheets, and a cup of coffee.

I realised what was causing this, before too much damage had been done, and I realised it was caused by trying to acomlish too much at once.

twenty seven media (a small design cooperative concept), this is three, chaos inspired, fused and many other projects were all things I was attempting to acomplish at the same time, as a result, the stress and pressure was preventing me from actually enjoying what I was doing, which had been the idea behind chaos inspired, my first true successful endeavour into blogging in mid-2008.

Based on what I found, I decided to change, I’ve dropped quite a few things, and some cool ideas will never become a reality as a result, but if I didn’t sacrifice somethings for other things, nothing would have ever come reality, so my decision was loose some, or loose all?

The Donald Kelly that wrote this post is one that is different from the one of 12 months ago, I’ve changed what I’m focused on, and what gets my time, from a whole list of things and titles, to a few, small, simple and effective ones.

Photographer, Mac user, Graphic Designer, BBSP (explanation comes later on this one.) and Generally cool person to be around.

Photography is something I’ve always been interested in for the longest time, Cameras have always fascinated me, and I’ve used this few months of down time to progress my skill set to enable me to create cooler, more interesting photos. So far, the results have been pretty amazing.

Mac User – I’ve been one since 2007, when I got my first white-polycarbonate MacBook with 10.4.6 pre-installed, Today I have three Macs and continue to use Macs, for creating, and relaxing, they go hand-in-hand with my photography and design interests, and allow me to focus on being creative, not prying a virus out of some registry files.

Graphic Designer – Second only to photography, another passion of mine is graphic design, from the simplest little thing in Photoshop to a multi-thousand layer concept with Illustrator and Photoshop in this mix, Graphic Design continues to hold my interest, and I have some cool things coming up.

BBSP (short for BlackBerry Support Professional) – Even though the iPhone tends to get all the attention, I’ve continued to use and support BlackBerry devices, I feel the provide a majority of the market competition Apple needs to continue to innovate and create new engaging devices in order to stay in-front of the competition. BlackBerry’s can be a bit tricky, but I’ve used them for nearly a year now, and can provide support to those whom need it, I do this (as I do most things.) free of charge for single end-users, but provide more involved, higher class paid support for large enterprise users.

Cool Person - Most people also think that, well, I’m generally a cool person to be around, true, I have my moments, but I am human. I’m focusing on making things more transparent, and letting people see and interact with me more, via for example posting my email address in public (donald@fused.org.uk) among many other ideas I’m working on.

The fact is, I’ve taken a look at what I’m doing and decided to focus on what I really enjoy, and to drop the rest. You’ll see the changes sooner than later, so just stay tuned. [:
